Time is Everything–Finished Product

By the end of the night I’d spent nearly 5 hours on my hair. And I don’t say that begrudgingly either. Up until the last two sections of hair remaining to be twisted, I wasn’t even tired. I was no where close to the basket case I was when I washed my hair a few weeks ago. Thats a Saturday I won’t soon forget. That day if I could have I would have gotten some loc extensions I was so desperate for a resolution!

So what’s the difference? From that time of overwhelming frustration to this time of calm?

Timing.

This time I wasn’t trying to do my hair in time to go somewhere or for any particular occasion. After my evening workout, my night was totally free AND I got lucky to have the house to myself! No one to call my name, asking me to do something for them. Or, for that matter, no one for me to have to talk to, tell what to do, etc.

Besides the dog following me everywhere I went in the house, all around me was peace and tranquility.

With my Pandora Aaliyah radio station playing followed by a DVD collection of my favorite mystery sleuth Columbo, I spent a quiet evening with my hair.

On your natural hair journey, have you determined the best time to dedicate to your hair? Or do you get it in when you can fit it in?
